dland ate my last entry, but nevermind, the basic gist was "everything still sucks and I'm running out of air", we caught up now? good.

I am attempting to read my textbook on animal learning and cognition for psychology, the experiments described are very dense and it's fairly difficult to get through, but I just found this thingy that I thought i would share with you:

"...Coyotes and wolves were made ill by feeding them chopped mutton that was wrapped in raw sheep hide and laced with lithium chloride. The effects of this conditioning episode were then examined by allowing the animals to approach live sheep. Rather than attacking them as they normally do, one coyote sniffed the sheep and then turned away wretching; the reaction of the wolves was even more impressive, at first they:

"charged the sheep and made oral contact several times with their characteristic flank attack but immediately released their prey. During the next half hour, the sheep became dominant as the wolves gave way whenever the sheep threatened with short charges. Gradually the wolves withdrew and responded to the sheep like submissive pups (Garcia et al., 1977, pp.281-282)"

... the fact that the conditioned stimulus paired with illness tasted and smelt of sheep, and that the live sheep, finding themselves not eaten by wolves, were prepared to attack their erstwhile predators..." (Pearce, 2000, pp.51)

Hah! I love that. "Hey! We're not getting eaten!! Atttttaaaaaccck!" Go sheep, go sheep!

Look, we're learning, wheeee.
